    :

Wonderful! I use this when we are doing projects outside in my work shop which does not put out a lot of light. I love how portable this is and how I can take it with me on trips as well.

In 2002 I had “hit a wall” with seasonal SAD and a case of “Burn Out” at work at the same time and was put on medical leave.

After the first month of being laid up at home and on medication, I was desperate to try anything to help speed up the recovery and “just feel normal” again.

I was seeing my GP every couple of weeks when she suggested that I look into this light treatment and consider giving
it a try in parallel to my medication.

I did quite a bit of research on this topic and possible treatment as I was very skeptical not to mention that none of my family or friends had any experience with this.

I made the decision to purchased my Bright Light Visor and received it in the mail a few days later. I was very skeptical and felt silly at first wearing the visor, however after the first week or so of use I felt better, I wore the visor twice a day, first thing in the morning, and just after dinner.

I continued to use the visor over the next year and my medication was reduced and finally discontinued and my recovery
    was well underway.

I still have the visor to this day and have used it occasionally over the years in late November till mid January, I have lent it to some of my co-workers over the years as well.

This type of light treatment is not stand alone, it is important that you eat well, (healthy) get regular exercise and get good sleep in parallel with the light treatment.

To me the visor WAS THE way to go as you can continue to do your chores and activities without sitting, even driving into work.

    A true and happy believer.

Although the product is good, the battery tends to die early.

I’ve been using the visor for 15 years from the end of September to early April. I have pretty severe SAD and other depression issues. I don’t even think about it; plot it on my head when I get up in the morning, yes, I feel silly, take it off when it shuts off and get on with my day. When I was working I would get my lunch, make my bed, etc., with it on and then step in the shower after it shut off. I know myself well enough to know that if I had to remember to sit down in front of a standing light I would never do it. We live in northern Ontario and the days can get pretty short and dark where we are. I feel sad (not SAD) that so many people could be helped by this and yet docs don’t recommend it. My Mom has dementia and it was her psychiatrist who said he thought they were great. They’re not cheap but Physician Engineered Products has been wonderful at repairing mine over the 15 years for free except for the shipping costs. They also make sure I’m not without one for even one day! So for $240 I got 15 years out of my first one. Not a bad annual cost for good mental health!
